sparking on motor

hello <br />I have a 9.9 johnson 86' I think? pull start/<br />getting gas to the carb but not going in sparkplugs dry.<br />when pull starting it i hear a spark jumping from a electrical box. Bad ground? <br />not much of a machanic but did fix up a 20 hrsp.<br />any extra info on this motor is greatly acepted.<br />jkern78@hotmail.com <br />thanks jason

sorry Mike,<br />Model # J10RCDB<br />when looking at the head sparkplugs it on the right side and a brown wire bolted under the plastic box bottom. brown wire also comes out of that box.<br />Jason

Forgot first thing is to get an omc shop manual, you're gonna' need one if you own a boat motor

No problem Jason, you won,t be sorry for having one.<br /><br />So did you locate that part on the diagram that was sparking?<br /><br />Also here's a couple places that sell them in case you haven,t got someplace already.
