special parts for reverse roation engine?

on a reverse rotation 350 chev for marine use, does it take a special distributor, or does the standard one just turn backwards?

The Standard Dist. turns the Standard Direction..........

Only the Crankshaft counter-rotates in a Chevy..............

if the crank turns in reverse, and it turns the cam, and the dist runs off the cam, then doesnt it turn in reverse?

It goes from a Timing Chain,........ to Timing Gears..........

Think about it....................

The distributor has to rotate the same way because it also drives the oil pump and there are no reverse rotation oil pumps.

A Timing chain will turn the gears the same..if it has Timing gears,that will reverse the process

Nope,..... The Cam is Always turning the same direction......

TheTiming Chain,+ it's sprockets are removed,......
And,......
A Gear is installed on the Crankshaft,+ a Gear is installed on the Cam......
Gear against Gear causes Oppsite Rotation of 1 of the shafts,....
In this case, the Crankshaft........

And don`t forget the timing cover seal and rear main seal that are designed for a "reverse rotation" engine.

Thanks guys,,,, I just bought an old houseboat, putting in 2 new motors, ordering from rapido in miami,,, they will build a reverse rotation long block for $150 extra, but I need to round up all the other parts, boat had 454s in it , replacing them with 350s. just trying to get a grocery list of all the othe parts that i will need.
