Just bought a new boat (see signature)
As I was getting some lines, anchor etc, an old man came up and said I should remove the prop when transporting it so it doesnt get stolen...cant find out how to get the bugger off, that man said also that it took a special "Key" because it looks like it has some sort of prop lock. Well I did not receive this Key with the boat purchase. Where can I get this key? base looks like a 2-3" ring with steps in it.

Seperate note, found the fill/drain hole for the gear lube but cannot find the overflow top hole? whats up with this? How do I know when it's full?

I would contact the prior owner for the key if it's got a prop lock.

Unless you you park the boat in a high cerime area, I wouldn't bother removing the prop for transport, especially if it has a prop lock. Generally the props at risk are almost always SS ones, b:c the list for >$300 ea.

Vent/fill screws are usually located on the starboard side, one at the lower section of the gearcase, the other near the cavitation plate and they are identical, slotted screws.
