Spectrum/Blue Fin/Force Owners,need Info

I am heading out tomorrow to buy a 1989 19 ft Spectrum aluminun boat with a 85 hp Force.(no trim & tilt) What can I expect with this combo(realistic).Would I be better to throw on my 1986 Johnson 90 hp ,,with trim and tilt.<br /> Also,can anyone give me the approx weight of this combo,,and what would the fuel capacity be.Any and all info much appreciated.

I think you will be under powered with both options your mention..We sell Fisher 19's which are the old Spectrum shell...We sell them with 150hp.<br /><br />Fuel tank size I think is 30 gal's<br /><br />TMD

The boat you are looking at is rated for 85hp, and weighs 992 lbs, (boat only). It has a 82" beam.<br /><br />Gas tanks were a bit smaller back then. My 1995 has a 13 gallon tank.<br /><br />The Force weighs 255 lbs.<br />The Johnson weighs 300 lbs.<br /><br />Boat, motor, trailer fuel, gear, probably 1800 to 2000 lbs.<br /><br />A 2002 Fisher Sport Avenger 19/20' weighs 1475 lbs, and is rated for 90hp. It has a 96" beam.<br /><br />Personally, I would put the Johnson on the boat.<br />The tilt/trim would be enough to make me do it. Plus, well those 80's Forces have a reputation.

I only hade info from these sites, and it is 2002 on the NADA site, which does occasionally have some discrepencies.<br /><br />I mainly wanted to point out the difference in size and weight of the newer vs the older narrower models.<br /><br />THe Fisher site does show a fishhawk model that is rated at 175hp, but is much heavier and wider than the 1989 model.

The Hawk line is the more expensive line than the Avenger line was...as of 2003 the 19 was discontinued. It was replaced by the 18.6 Hawk.<br /><br />Hawks are rated for higher horse power...and are of the original Fisher line up.<br /><br />TMD
