can anyone advise what the expected speed on water should be with a 260 hp sea ray 1982 weekender 245? It has an 888 drive and a 15x17 prop. Should I go to more pitch? It will run at approx 16 knots at 3500 rpm. and about 23 knowts at 4500 rpm. I know the bottom is getting some growth. Am I in the right ballpark or should I change the prop fort greater pitch?

You gotta get the bottom right to make that judgment. For the conditions now, it sounds about right the way it is.
