My speedo tube is clogged in the lower unit. I tried blowing it out but its clogged too bad. How do I replace the tube?

First things first. Are you sure it's the tube and not the just the pickup hole that's plugged. Most inoperative speedo problems are a clogged pickup hole on the outdrive. Assuming we're talking an outdrive here.

If you're sure it's the tube, just replace the tube sections from the outdrive to the speedo head.

On the Alpha drive there's a tube section that runs from the outdrive to the transon. Then another section of tubing that runs from the other side of the transom connection to the speedo head. Be sure that the hard fixed connector isn't clogged with something.

By disconnecting the hose from the engine side of the connector you could divide the problem in half as to transom to speedhead vs outdrive tube to transom.

Cobotr,
Thanks for the advice. I know its in the lower section in the alpha drive. The connection at the transom forward is clear. Now if I can only find where the trim guage connects, I'll be in good shape.
