I have Mercury Alpha one drive unit. I tried to clean the pitot tube with a small wire but no luck. The wires goes in about 7-8" then stops. It aslo seems to go around a curve in the tube so drill bit is out of the question. The pitot tube seems to be inside the lower unit si can't get at it to disconnect and blow it out.
Next I tried to take the speedo out but it is wired in. Any ideas on how to fix it.
I don't yet have a GPS to measure speed so I really have no clue how fast I am travelling.
