i always called it a speedarmator, but webster dictionary, don't list it. But mine isn't working. trying to see what i can do or may need to check or replace.

looked around tryed to problem solve, no luck.

A boat's speedometer works on water pressure. There should be a pickup (called a pitot) on the transom, with a plastic pressure tube to the gauge.

Newer motors had the speedo pickup in the motor gearcase.

so it may work in the water rather with muffs on?

Speedometer will not work with motor on flusher. After all speedometer measures speed of the boat across the water, and on the flusher, you have no speed (sic).

well i know that speedamoter measure speed, i didn't know if i reaved it up if the speed o meter would tell speed of motor just running. thanks again.

Motor speed is displayed by a tachometer.

yeah i don't have a tach. so i guess i will just try to put the boat in water and see what happens. thanks again
