I post this site about once a year, so I guess it's about that time again. This site give's you a way to get an accurate speedometer reading, when changing tire size from your factory size, to an optional size. It really works great.

Example: The original tire size on my Ford XLT Club Wagon, the E250, 3/4 ton van, was LT215/85-R16. I wanted a more heavy duty and a wider track. I tried several sizes and came up with LT245/75-R16. The result's: At an indicated 100 MPH, the actual vehicle speed is 100.259 MPH. That's not a bad tire size exchange, with out changing my final 3:55 gear ratio.

You can actaully change your final gear ratio up or down, by using non-orginal tire sizes, with the help of this chart.

www.csgnetwork.com/speedocalibcalc.html

Scroll down the page to find many more useful conversion chart's.

Enjoy.... ...Bob in Calif...
