I just got this boat from a guy who did use it much and did not know a while lot about boats. He said the speedmeter never worked and now I know why. The tube is hanging there not connected. It is too short to reach the pickup on the outdrive. Can I somehow splice another piece of tube to reach the pickup? Will it work?

Thanks,

Hi. If it’s not doing any harm as it is…and going to cost you money…I wouldn’t bother. The pitot speed reading is as good as guessing. My dash Speedo can go off the clock and indicating a presumed speed well ober 70 mph. But the gps will show late 60’s. The difference between the two can vary wildly at some speeds.
