Spirit 40 hp

I boat an older lund boat last year that came with a Spirit 40... it runs ok it needs the carb pulled of and cleaned and someone mentioned i should replace the impeller as well...... well the problem is finding parts.... i know some suzuki parts interchange.... but what suzuki motor??? i will get the numbers off the motor tomorrow and post them....

What else should i do to freshen up a motor that has been sitting for a couple of years?

You might make a post in the Suzuki section, there are supposed to be some gurus over there and they might be able to help cross reference parts. Aside from the impeller and carb clean I would say to change the lower unit lube and to put in new spark plugs as well, this should probably get it running good.

I will post it there.... i should have originally but wasn't sure as i am new around here.....

Thx for the tips... i changed both the plugs and lower unit lube when i first got it... Should these be changed yearly or what is the common practice?? as you can tell i am new to boat ownership!
