hi.. well first off im new here. i just bought a 1979 18' Blue Fin with a Chrysler 50 in it. i found this place because i needed to replace my transom. and im glad i found this place because it help very much. so thank you to everyone!!! so i created a screen-name. and my frist question will be...
ive been using my brother-in-laws 16' alumacraft. it has a Spirit 50 on it. for the past 4 years. last year before it snowed and started it freeze outside. i took the bottom drain plug out for the lower gear unit out and let the lube drain out into the pan. where i left the screw also. past three years i did as i did this year. but come to last month to get the screw out of the pan, it was not their. i took the top screw out and went to all the boat people around me. and none of them had any. and said it could be hard to find because the motor company aint in business anymore. i must of bought about 5 new bolts from all the dealers around me, just by chance it would fit. but nope... so i am hoping that some here can help me. screw size? thread per inch, or even where i can buy one here or on-line somewhere, ect.... any info, anyone can provide would be very helpful. thank you
