Splicing Wires?

I have a couple of wires on my motor that have either been rubbed or heated. One of which is going to one of the overheat sensors. Would it be ok to cut the section of the wires out and splice with new wire? Or should I order the replacement wires? I also am experiencing a constant beeeeep from the controls when I turn the ignition on. From what I understand from other threads that beeeeep is the overheat alarm. Could this bad wire on the overheat sensor be the cause of the alarm?

Re: Splicing Wires?

sure you can splice the wire, i also use liquid electrical tape on them, to seal them. yes it could be a shorted, or a bad sensor.

Splice them. I use solderless crimp, butt connectors. I remove the insulation cover, flux 'em up, crimp and solder them to the wires and cover with shrink tube.
