split screen on Bottomline fishfinder

for some reason the screen on my fishfinder has been split. The left side of the screen is fine but the right side is down 1/2 inch. It is a botomline but I dont know the model # off hand. could it be the wire harness or transducer?

Perhaps you inadvertantly turned on split screen view. Look for a manual online or try fiddling withthe sonar settingas.

No, it flickers up and down and I set it back to defalt settings. Still can't figure it out.

I have a Bottom Line EZ 6600 Specie Select. I'm not sure if the transducer would be the problem, since it only sends data. And 12 volts is 12 volts. The unit itself takes the data and gives the visual image. Do you actaully have a split screen option on your menu, where both sides show different data, or is it just a single screen, lined up differently on each side?

It is a single screen that lines up differently - and it flickers up and down. It interferes with the lake bottom line and the numbers (depth and gain). really frustrating.

I would clean the transducer and power connections where they plug into the head. A contact cleaner/lubricant is available at Radio Shack. Check the power and transducer cables for cuts. Other than that, I'm not sure what your options are since Bottomline is out of business. You could try and find a used transducer for sale, which is what I'm trying to do, with not much luck. Check out what model you have and post it if you can.

I cleaned the contacts and it worked. They were pretty dirty. Thanks.
