sporadic impeller

Every now and then my motor is not producing a steady pee stream. The problem comes and goes during restarts. Example being I start the motor and there is a healthy pee stream that stays consistent during that rung period. Next restart it may produce a weak stream that stays weak until its shutdown, given a rest and restarted with a steady stream which once again stays consistent.

P.O. said the impeller was replaced this spring.

Any ideas?

Re: sporadic impeller

I had a similar problem on 8HP Honda (though more often "no water" and less sporadic). I ran an aluminum wire (the kind used to ground electric circuits) up the pee tube a bit, and it seemed to fix it, even though nothing obvious came out. Might do the trick.

Re: sporadic impeller

With red plastic tube provided, squirt some W-40 upwards pee hole, let penetrate, run same tube or a wire upwards, downwards several times, or compressed air blast through pee hole to remove obstruction. Red plastic tube being flexible and almost same pee tube diameter can make it's way upward along inside curves snake friendly than running a non flexible wire, make sure you have enough lenght at tube's end to pull out properly :D

Re: sporadic impeller

I've had that problem too, but then, I'm 63.... lol.....

Anyhow, I like the last two answers. I ran a small wire up the pee hole and jabbed it around. Nothing seemed to fall out, but so what. Then I took a can of "Dust Cleaner" the stuff you get from Office DePot, etc. It has about a 6 inch small diameter red tube which you can stick up the pee hole and blast away. That might do some good. Then, I went to Auto Zone and got some Carb Cleaner with the same sort of thin red tube on it. Blasted away quite a bit.

Then hooked up the fuel tank with a little "Sea Foam" in in and started the thing up. That was about 6 months ago, and it has been running great since !!!

Good luck with yours.
