Sportjet 90 hp ignition trouble

I am having a problem where I am not receiving spark. It does not turn over or click or anything. I am currently awaiting an ignition switch with harness, solenoid, and a starter. How should I go about eliminating from this process.

I found a link on Google about testing ignition. Sorry I can't post the link. There was also a Mercury service sheet that helped with diagnosing my ignition and rev limiter problem.
