I recently purchased a 1994 Baha Sportjet 90. There is no spark. It appears the electrical system has been upgraded. The stator I have has 2 yellow and a Green/White and a White/Green. The Green and white wires go to an "adaptor" module on the switchbox. Out of this adaptor module a blue wire goes into the switchbox. The trigger coil has Brown, Purple, White and I believe a white/black.
I disconnected the yellows and taped them up.
I disconnected the Black/yellow from the switchbox.
The ohms readings on the 3 wires coming from the trigger are all about 1200 ohms.
Cranking the engine I have 172 VAC on the Green/white and white/green from stator
On the blue wire coming from the adaptor to the switchbox I have about 180 VDC (When cranking)
Across the coils I have 0 volts when cranking (Green wires from switch box to ground).
On the switchbox Black/yellow wires I have 240 VDC while cranking.
On the switchbox White/blk I have 3.8 volts when cranking.
It did have spark when I first tried to fire it. I had cleaned all the connections and grounds. After I put in the plugs, no spark. No spark since.
I have not pulled the flywheel but I will probably do it tonight and see if anything is damaged, magnets, key, chaffed wires or burnmarks in the stator or trigger coil.
I need to know what switchbox will work with the stator I have. If I use the 114-4953 switchbox from CDI, do I need the adaptor module. Looking at the wires in the pictures it appears different. Do I need to replace the stator and or trigger to use this switchbox? Is there something else I should be looking at because it initially had spark? Will a slightly weak battery produce no spark if the stator is outputting only 172 volts to power the switchbox? Would conversion to 3 CDM's make more sense? will that work with my current stator and trigger coil?
