How the heck did you do that? Two strokes don't know the difference but the early models had switches to prevent that. Is your starter spinning it in the clockwise direction. If not, then you may have connected the battery cables backward. But then the starter drive wouldn't push it in the opposite direction. Are you sure you're looking at it correctly. That don't make sense. I've seen folks install the wrong starters on counter-rotating engines but they only burbed and farted. Never ran.
