Spraying gas

Took my three carbs apart an they were loaded with old gas an oil, blew out an cleaned an re-installed. The motor, 3 cyl. 60 hp Evinrude, runs strong an idles well, but the bottom carb has a mist of gas spraying out the throat. Is this a sign of a bad reed valve? Is the only way to fix it is to replace all three valves or only one? Any thing else that can be causing this? Thanks Neil74

Re: Spraying gas

Hi
I just had the same problem with a Johnson 40.
It could be the reed valve or ,as mine was,the reed valve gasket had a small hole in it right in the top corner.
If your carbs were all gunked up the reed valve could be in the same state. You can take them out, take them apart and try cleaning them.
If any of the reeds are bent then just bin it and get new 1s
If it is the reed valve you only need to replace the defective 1,not all 3.
Good luck

Thanks daleburt, I was hoping not to have to take carbs off again:) I guess I should have checked them while they was off before.
