Hi, I am a reporter working on a story about the Coast Guard's Harbor Watch program, which is a post-Sept. 11 initiative that asks recreational boaters to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity on the water or in harbors. I'm looking for recreational boaters to interview who have either reported suspicious activity, or who have had their activities reported by someone else. If you've had anything happen to you along these lines and you'd agree to be interviewed (I will need to use your name, just so you know), please email me at aceb5@aol.com.

Thanks so much for the help,
Gothamboater

There is seldom if ever any covert/overt activity on a small inland lake.

Suspicious activity that happens are wild PWC drivers, new boaters are suspicious at the ramp, occasional excessive alcohol consumption incident or the proverbial statement made by a young man to his young lady in the center of the quiet lake... "it won't start so we have to stay out here and just wait a few hours :D "

I consider myself a boater not a voyeur!

Bob

How much do you pay for the interview? As you are writing a story to make money I only think that it is fair that you should share the profits.

I am out on the water about 300 plus days a year and I have reported a couple of things since 9-11. Although one of my best was in '83 concening 50+ floating bales of grass in the gulf stream, and I ain't talking about hay.

I saw a sailboat in the gulf the other week about 10 miles out. It looked a little suspicious and when we got closer to the darn thing everyone started putting their clothes back on. With the exception of the two on the bow who were still busy. When I got back to work I reported this to all the guys in the break room.
