I have squeaking leaf springs on my ez-loader trailer. They squeak when I'm on the way to the lake, but not on the way back (after they got wet at the launch). Can I just spray some WD40 on them?
Buy a can of Spray Foam Roller Chain Lubricant, goes on as a foam, penetrates very well, and is very sticky to stay on leaf springs, that should stop it for good!
Is it the springs or is it the suspension? If you have slipper type springs (as many EZ loaders do) the rollers that cover the bolts wear and you wind up with metal-to-metal contact. Also, is this a tandem or single? The bushing in the equalizer also wears and you get the same thing at times.
My tandem trailer squeaked like crazy until I went through the suspension and replaced all the sleeves and bushings. Now it's doesn't make a sound while towing. I replaced EVERY sleeve and bushing and I spent less than $60 for all the parts. Plus the alignment has to be better as the slop is gone out of the suspension.
