Hello,
I was out on the water a few days ago with my '93 4.3LX and had trimmed the outdrive up as I was going through a spot with lots of weeds. I then turned the engine off, did some fishing and wanted to head some. I thought that I trimmed the drive down, but was not able to get on plane, the boat was just plowing through the water with the bow high up in the air.
After trimming the drive up and down a few times in my driveway I went out today and had no problems with the trim. However, there was a "squeaking" noise coming from the trim motor when trimming up and down, but only while moving at a slow speed. In neutral the sound was gone and at high speed the engine is too loud to head anyway. The sound is like a squeaky wheel or pulley.
Does anyone know what I am looking at here?
Also, I previously had some water in the oil reservoir due to it being submerged and I had pumped some of the oil out today only to find out that there is still some water remaining (I thought I had it all out). Should I purge the lines to get rid of all the water and old oil?
Thanks in advance!
