SS windshield centre section

I am needing/wanting a 18 SS and the one I'm looking at does not have the centre windshield section.
Other boats I see have this piece. Does anyone know the story ?

None of the SS I have seen have them, I know mine certainly doesn't.

I'm just going to build a full length door that goes to the floor for mine.

They were most likely referred to as a dual console, rather than a "windshield" boat.

Wiser guys than I will verify this for you but I think the earlier SS's (69-71 maybe) didn't have the center windshield. They came on the later models.

My 79 has the full windshield. One of the new guys removed his and said he is not going to use it, See if I can find it.

My 76 18" SS has a center windshield, and i am not going to use it for my rebuild. you just have to pay for shipping. PM me and we can go from there.
one question. is your windshield set up for a center section????
