Hi - I've recently been in india and notice most locals start the 2stroke yamaha outboards on petrol for 15 mins then swap of to kerosene when warmed up...

could i do this with my 90 brown band stack 6?

Personally don't know if it would work or not, but kerosene cost more then gas around here

Yamaha makes a line of outboards that run on Kerosene.
Not sure how it would need to be set up but Google might help.

stack 6 on kersone, only way I can reply bc of computer locking up on this site.

If your talking about a inline 6 ,running kersone is a good way of killing it. These engines require a octane of 89 or better to run. Kerosenes octane rating should be close to the same as diesel which is 40. When the gas got crappy Merc sent out a bulletin about retarding the timing a few degrees to keep them from blowing up.I can't imagine what the timing would be with a octane rating so low. I would not even try it unless I was ready to junk the engine.

Mod Edit - Moved into the thread.
