Can anyone tell me if and or who can repitch Ballistic props???? I know S.S. is hard to work with, but I've got a 13-3/8X19" for my 115 Johnson, and it won't spin it near fast enough........thx

Re: Stainless Props

Try Rich Boger at Boger Props, website is www.bogerprops.com . He hasn't done any work for me yet but he's already spent a lot of time answering my questions and helping me figure out what prop to start with. He comes highly recommended by the guys that have had him work their props in the past.

Re: Stainless Props

What rpm are you running at at wide open throttle? Ideally you should be +/- 200 rpm of spec.

Re: Stainless Props

I guess I should clearify my position on this...we were an OMC dealer for 22 years and got out in the early 80s' because we are located in an area where the lakes are becoming few-low, and couldn't sell enough engines to satisfy OMC.
My question pertaining to the prop was the Ballistic in particular, because our propshop in Denver can't do the Ballistics.
I still work on, O/H, play with, modify,....that sort of thing with OMC products, and my prop shop just doesn't do ballistics.
I've moved into aircraft and now am an aicraft mechanic specializing in turbine engines-wish i could install one on my boat-hahaha.
I also have to deal with high altitude hear as we are operating at about 3600ft above sealevel-10%-12% power loss right off the top.
My best prop for overall performance is a 13.5X18 Raker, which i can get about 5200r's out of...a 13-3/8X17 nauticpro gives me about 5300.
the old great of all greats 13.75X15, will give 5600, but the 19.7mph at best fuel/economy-mileage-3500rpm gets me nowhere fast (slow).
I have a 13-3/8X19 Ballistic that I would like to have worked to a lower pitch-even though it pulls it about 4800, I have a sluggish hole-shot to say the least-which is nothing 3 vent holes won't help, but it's just too low in the torque range.
I'm up on the second hole, and this prop ventilates VERY easily...I thought it might grab better considering the design.
Unless someone wants to trade a 19" ballistic for a 17", I'm looking at a repitch.
Thanks,
