i have a 150hp evinrude and i have 2 props one is stainless steal and the other is aluminum. i have noticed that the s.s prop is heavier, and i'm worried that it is to much of a load on my lower unit.

my question is which prop should i use?
does it really matter?

the pitch of the props are 14 3/4 x's 16 and 141/4x's 23

will someone let me know what to do?

i would be very grateful for any answers
thanks

Fermin, you don't need to mworry about the weight of the stainless prop, it will not hurt anythinhg. Try them both and see which one works better on your boat and use that one.

Stainless and aluminum both have advantages and disadvantages. Stainless it usually better for performance but if you hit something it is not very forgiving on your gear assembly. Aluminum is softer and will bend if you hit something. also they cost less than stainless. But aluminum needs to be kept painted. I personally would run the stainless prop!!
