i needed a new prop, so i decided to double my cost and go stainless. iboats delivered a nice michigan wheel match 15x17. almost hurt myself pulling it out of the box. i never expected it to be so heavy. and the blades didn't seem to be any thinner than my aluminum (maybe thicker).

my questions- will this extra weight change my performance? won't my engine have to work harder to get this new prop spinning fwd and rev? isn't one of the reasons a ss is faster than aluminum because the blades can be thinner (ss stronger) and hence cut into the water cleaner equalling less slip?

i could be way off. with the recent weather and my longer days rebuilding the naval academy, haven't had time to slap it on and go for a spin yet.
