Still on the hunt for a polished stainless steel prop for my Johnson 60. Needing a 13 3/4 X 15, but it is obviously not a popular size. Would like to find a nice used one just for expenses sake...but I'm having trouble and running out of places to look...any suggestions??? I keep checking ebay.

If you can't find used, then you'll have to buy new. Shiny SS props are usually Hi-Perf for big motors on go-fast boats. That doesn't generally go for low pitches. There isn't much demand for shiny 15p SS props.

most of the companies start at 17 pitch for OMC medium gear case props (I've seen a 15 pitch form time to time though). How heavy of a boat are you running that you need a 15 pitch Stainless Steel?

The boat really is not heavy at all. I don't have a clue how much it weighs, I've only owned the boat a short while...but it is not heavy and only 15'. The aluminum prop that is on it now is 13 3/4 X 15...and it ran great with that setup, so I figured I would get the same deal in stainless steel.

Re: Stainless Steel Prop

The reason I asked is I run a heavy 16' aluminum fishing boat (1300# with noone on board) and had no trouble spinning a 13 1/4x17 pitch stainless to 6000rpm when I had a 70hp johnson tripple on the back, 49cid model. Your 60hp is probibly newer with the larger 56cid powerhead and steeper gear ratio and could probibly spin a 17 pitch pretty easy.

Re: Stainless Steel Prop

The motor is a early 90's Johnson. Runs really strong...it pushes my boat really well. I just like the way it ran with the 13 3/4 X 15P aluminum prop. So I figured getting the same size in stainless would be perfect. Plus I would have a little heavier duty of a prop. If I can find a polished one, then it would even look good with the rest of my boat which has just been completely redone.

I found this one and have been eyeballing it a little...
