Working on a 22 Winner
The hull has brown stains from the water, rust stains and I need to get rid of them.
What works and what might work?
I've tried Comet soft scrub and it works a bit.
Will black streak remover work?

Thanks,Jerry

No black streak mover will not remove it. You can go to the boat shop and pay about $20 a qt for 'On & Off' or go to a hardware and pay $5 for a gallon of muriatic acid. Both are about the same- wear gloves, apply out doors, gently rub. Both will remove all wax. Unlikely you will use more than a few oz of either. Keep it away from other materials like carpet, wiring, and etc.

I found some stuff called FSR, fiberglass stain remover. Removed the water spotting from my hull pretty easily after letting it sit. Rust, not so much, but I'm trying to not damage the gel coat.

once you get the hull sparkling with the strong stuff "On/Off" - you can use something like Zep toilet bowl cleaner with acid for a weekly cleaning. I use the Zep toilet bowl cleaner every other trip out on the water. Keeps things looking great. I use it as soon as the boat is out of the water.

I had the same issue with my PowerQuest this year. "The Works" shower and bathroom cleaner (not the toilet cleaner) plus a cheap 1 gallon pump up sprayer took it right off with no scrubbing. Nothing else worked for me at all. Star Bright Hull Cleaner would also probably work. Basically anything with the active ingredient "oxalic acid" works great to take off rust and is much safer that working with muriatic acid.
