stalling after motor warms up

hi everyone im having a problem with motor missing and then dieing after the motor warms up and then i can not get it to start again tell i get it home could this be the carburetor ? i have gave it a full tune up new plugs cap and rotor i have even went as far as to put a new timing built on it just because i did not know how many hrs was on it what is starting to get to me is that it runs fine all
day on the water sock in the driveway anyone have any ideas what it could be also have done a compression check and its 150psi across the deck thanks for taking the time to read and have a great day

bubba thanks for the reply the choke is wide open while it is sputtering then stalls thanks

Howdy,

Sounds more like a fuel problem......you may have a plugged fuel filter or tank screen or a carb problem.

You might check out the adults only sticky...The Mercury service manual for your type engine has a pretty good trouble shooting section that may apply to your OMC engine on generic problems like this.

well here are the results after tinkering with the boat for three days i had to end up putting a new rebuild kit in the carb took her out on the river and she ran out great.... thanks everyone who responded to the post in the last couple of months i have learned i lot from those who have responded to my post and i know there is a lot more to learn from everyone here on iboat everyone have a great day
