Hi Everyone. I managed to get the oil pressure switch problem solved. Now this past weekend another issue cropped up. The boat runs fine for about 15 minutes. Then it just shuts off for some reason. Then after about 1 minute I will hear a small click on the left side of the engine. Then there is power again. The boat starts rite up and will run for about 20 minutes and then do the same thing. Again a small click on the left side of the engine. The click is down near the bottom of the engine. Any ideas ???? When I say no power there is nothing. Gauges are dead, stereo everything. Then this click and away it goes. I at a loss. Any help would be great. It a 4.3 Lt Mercruiser

Should be a main engine circuit breaker, usually on upper starboard side of the engine. Sounds like it is overheating and kicking out - except it wouldn't be low down, I wouldn't think.

I agree with Rick. It could be mounted down lower depending upon the make. There are threaded holes for brackets lower down on the heads...

Morning Everyone. Well I found my problem, and i can hardly believe it. There was a loos screw on one side of the 50 amp reset button behind the carb. I was looking at the reset button to see how hard it would be to replace it and I had the boat running at the time. I touched this screw and everything went dead. I tightened the screw and no problems since. Took the boat out last night and run for over 3 hours , with no problems. Thanks for all the responses. Sometimes its just the simple things that get you down

That's awesome. Once in a while we hear one of the 'old' hands around here talk about going through all their connections. Kind of makes sense when you hear something like this.

Motor on!

Good deal. Yeah, I myself have a tendency to overlook the simple things & make things out to be more complicated then they are. Loose electrical connections can present themselves as some real crazy problems sometimes too. Way more then it seems a loose wire could cause but that's usually the culprit. Especially the grounds. Good luck & be safe. Jim.
