Stalling L-Drive

I have a 1990 90 HP Force L-Drive. My problem is that when it is hot(been running for awhile)it stalls often when in neutral and I try to put it in gear. It will start again fairly easily but stalls when I atttempt to put it into gear. I would greatly appreciate any advice to what I can do to fix this problem myself & what is suspected to be at fault.

try turning the mixture screws out 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

Playing with the mixture screws did cure my problem which was stalling. I have an '89 85hp L-drive which vibrates at about 3000 rpm with boat not on plane. Have changed bearing in the universal joint housing, which was bad and I would like to know if you have this problem and/or does anyone know what may cause this. Feels more like an engine mount problem to me but I am not sure.
