I have a 1987 20' Sea Spite with a 4.3 v6. The problem i am having is that when i take it out, the first 15-20 minutes she runs fine then she acts like she is running out of fuel. Ill let it stall out and have to wait 10 minutes to start it back up after that it is real hesitant but will move a idle speed all day long. I have changed the water seperator and checked the fuel pump it puts out good fuel pressure. I put stabile in the tank in case of water in tank. I think it is a spark problem. Maybe the coil or condenser warm up and get hot and break them down or something. Can anyone help? Thank you

Sounds more like a Fuel Issue...........
checked the fuel pump it puts out good fuel pressure.
What Exactly are you calling Good ?????

It Could also be a Problem Within the Carb.........

Well its a mechanical fuel pump so i dont know how that would fail like aelectrical pump? I did just buy the boat and the carb looks clean inside. Could it be a fuel tank vent hose or something?

Mechanical Pumps Do Fail......
The Diaphrams go Bad.....
The Check-valves Go Bad......
The Springs can Break.......

Without Knowing the Fuel Pressure,
You're Working Blind..........

It Could be,
The Tank Vent.....
The Tank Pick-up Tube.....
The Anti-siphon Valve.....
Any of the Fuel Lines......
The Filters, or their Housings.....
Or,
The Carb Itself................

Well i guess thats a starting point. Ill check for all of the fuel lines being clear and then go from there. Thanks for the info Bondo!

don't overlook the ignition system. heat will affect it. check coil, points,...there are a lot of post similar to this for ideas.

Get a vacuum/fuel pump test gauge and you can test the fuel pump with that. Also make sure your float in the carb isn't getting stuck. If it runs for 10 minutes or so and cuts out you could be running out of fuel due to a sticking needle and seat. As hoot said, don't overlook the ignition system, when it cuts out pull a wire off and check for spark. If you don't see any spark then you know where to look. Don't wait too long after it cuts out because some systems can come back real quick and they will fool you.
