Stalling

I have a Yamaha v-6 that stalls with throttle in upright position. Runs great with drive engaged. But will stall when I put throttle in upright position. Have not changed out any of the gas filters. I was going to begin there first. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.<br /><br />Matt

Is this an I/O,... Or an Outboard motor,..???<br /><br />Sounds like a Shift Linkage Adjustment Issue,..

I'm sorry. After I posted I knew I had left some information out. It is an I/O. I will run great with throttle open but not in upright position. I am not mechanically inclined but if pointed in the right direction I can probably get it fixed. Any help is appreciated.
