I have a 1988 25Hp Evinrude outboard. I'm having a problem where it stalls when you raise the throttle a bit. Anyway I've checked a bunch of things but not the timing. I know how to check the timing but if it's off how do you adjust it?

Re: Stalling

Have you cleaned and rebuilt the carbs?? Pump the primer bulb when it starts to die? Shoot a little pre-mix into the carb throat when it's dying?

Re: Stalling

Well Hey. Now I am having the same problem yet mine does not do it all the time. I am gonna change the fuel filter and see how it goes after that. Timing seems good cuz engine sounds great except when you try to yeehaw on outta here. And that is where it loses life. My engine is sitting at 60 horseys and the year is a 1992. Any more suggestions :D

Re: Stalling

Like RB said, carbs would be the place to start. A good thorough cleaning will eliminate many a stalling problem.

Cheers,

Brew
