Anyone out there know if these are good. I have heard that the hull is very strong.

Re: Stamas boats ?

Josepr,

Stamas (if it is the same one I am familiar with) is based in Tarpon Springs, FL (Just north of Tampa on the gulf). I have never owned one, but they have a very good reputation at least with the locals(I used to live in Tarpon Springs). I seem to remember they were pretty pricy as well.

As an aside: I worked with one of the Stamas family (not in boat building), so maybe I have a bias.

Just my $0.02

Safe boating to all.

Cheers.

emp.

Re: Stamas boats ?

josepr,

Stama does have a reputation of being a good quality, rugged boat.

When I was growing up (a long, long time ago, LOL) my parents ran a marina in Panama City, Florida. They carried the Stamas line.

Ed from Granville is right about Stamas being built in Tarpon Springs. The business is run by a proud Greek family. It will be difficult to find a Stamas owner who didn't like their boat.

I highly recommend their boats.

Regards, Gold Bear ;)

Re: Stamas boats ?

Thanks for the input and good news guys !!
I just got it and it's a 1972 hull,26.5, cuddy cabin with head, and with twin Yamaha 200's Salt water series with barely 150 hours on them. The hull is in excellent condition with the exception of some buffing that's needed. No cracks at all. The engines are sweet ! She sits perfectly level on the water.
