Stand tube found in exhaust boot

First time posting so forgive me if this question or topic has already been asked. I have a 1988 Force 125hp 2 stroke model #1251X8C. Yesterday I noticed water leaking into motor leg from the rubber exhaust boot. So today I removed motor leg cover to check it out and inside of the motor leg was a stand tube (Part #816515). I have no idea what a stand tube is, what it does, or where to reinstall it. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome! I’ve attached pictures to help.

It goes in the inside of the exhaust housing.
It can't be replaced unless the block is removed.
IT hurts nothing if not replaced.
Find a parts diagram and find where it goes.
There's 2 of them.
They regulate the amount of water.
Like I said hurts nothing when it falls out..
