Hi guys.

I bought a brand new Starcraft 2119 last spring. It was the last new 2013 available on the floor and I bought it new last February 2016.

The engine is a 5.0 MPI Mercruiser and I love the boat so far. I cruised the boat all summer at 3000 RPM (between 25 to 28 mph) depending of many factors.

But some guys told me that the boat would probably be in a better miles per gallon range if I would run it at 3300 RPM.

So far I have NO issue whatsoever with the boat. I have 50 hours on the engine so far...

I was wondering if any of you had the same boat and played around with the fuel economy variables...

Thanks guys!

Welcome aboard Frag

Most of us guys hanging around here have old aluminum Starcraft boats and are bottom feeder types that buy into their boats for 600 bucks or less and rebuild them.

Once up on a solid plane boats are like any other motorized vehicle, the more you push on the throttle the more fuel it will consume. I run my Chief's 4.3 LX at 3k 90% of the time when cruising, sometimes a bit less. When everything is set up right 3k is a magic cruise RPM for most IO boats.
