I'm against the idea of rollers for a riveted boat, even if the rollers don't touch the rivets. Bunks are padded and spread the weight out over a greater area. Aluminum is soft. Rollers are more likely to cause the aluminum to stretch over time, which also stretches the holes that the rivets go through. Once that happens, it can break the seal that keeps the water out and weaken the hull by loosening the rivets. When you're towing and you hit a bump in the road, think about the force of the rollers pressing against the hull in the same place each time. Then multiply that hundreds of times over the life of your boat.

Oh, and yes, I agree with JD. It is wise to heed the knowledge of fellow boat owners, especially if they have the same boat as you and perhaps owned it longer. I hope this helps.
