Start en stopping of a D4 engine

Had a small question about testing a D4 engine. Is it a lot of harm to the starter if the engine is started and stopped frequently within a very short time (1 to 2 minutes, sometimes with the regular stopbuttton, otherwise with the killswitch)? Can that damage the starter motor or is it designed for it. What does the experts say?

I will not hurt the starter, that said, with each start there is wear. How much wear is minimal but this all depends on many variables. It will only last thru so many start cycles, that may be 1000 or 1,000,000
