starter acting up

hi,<br /> tex again coming at ya . my starter will not budge. it just makes a clicking sound. i took it apart and the bushings are broke and the abendix looks in rough shape. is there any good site on the web where i can buy one at.

I would recommend checking the Arco website (Florida). I've purchased a couple of starters from them, and been satisfied. Depending on what you need, it might be a new starter or a remanufactured one. The website is well-organized, with pictures of the starters. If you call in, the people are extremely helpful -- know their business. You can buy direct, but will pay retail. They sell to Boat US, among others.<br /><br />For all of that, though, you might check first on having your starter rebuilt locally. It might not be as bad as you think.
