I have a 78 SeaRay Overnighter that seems to have draw on the battery as well as a start problem. I backed off the starter once and that seemed to cure the problem for a little while, but it only starts one out of 10 times now. I have pulled the starter (what a pain)!!! Part number is 1109489-8G-12 Says Delco-Emy.....(rest is covered by a sticker. Do I get it rebuilt now? I saw someone named HUNDEL on an earlier post in the Twin Cities area that had this done...any recomendations?

Re: Starter/battery draw 78 SeaRay Overnighter

Just wanted to close this subject. I pulled the starter and tested it -- it was fine. There is along bolt that comes out of it that connects leads the positive battery cable that had a nut on it that seems to get shaken loose during use. I put some locktite on and clean it all up and put it back in and it runs like a beauty!! thanks everyone.
