starter bolt torque ?

hi, anyone know what the starter to block bolt torque spec.s are?.... mercrusier 165 IL6. 1972. <br />got a clymers and mercrusier manual #1. darn, never enough books. guess i need #2 with the specs in it... thanks

Around 35 lbs should do. Check your manual, for bolts not specifcally identified with a torque, there are basic torques by bolt types and sizes.

thanks DonS. yep, hip to the general bolt torque spec.s notion. got the info in my beginning auto mech. book.a nice hip chart by grade and size. alas, i couldn't find that book, . but i will, hope i can find it. back out on a beautiful day to tighten em up. jim
