While rewiring the motor, I noticed that the lug was loose on the side of the starter. When I touched it, the dang thing fell off. Does anyone know how to re-attach it?

I was thinking that is part of a brush set, but when I checked I found out I was thinking wrong. True on newer motors, but not yours.

So....I guess you have to take it apart to see how it is attached. You may have to make one out of a brass carriage bolt or something. Whatever, I'm quite sure it is soldered in there and a heavy duty soldering iron would be required.

Yeah I took it apart, and the stud looks like brass. I see it is soldered. The brass carriage bolt idea is genius. I wish I thought of that. I will need to get a heavy duty soldering iron and give it a try. I hope I don't ruin this thing altogether, I'm sure these aren't easy to find. Thanks!
