I have a Mercruiser 228 and recently when I start it, the cranking continues once the engine starts. I have to remove the battery cable to stop it. I replace the ignition but that did not help. Any suggestions? Help and thanks.<br /><br />JOHN
you need to use a meter to see if power is staying on after you release the key to the run position<br /><br />there should be a slave sol between the key switch and the starter <br /><br />there are two things it could be power staying on or the sol could have failed and is staying closed only way to tell is check wires at each point<br /><br />tommays
