My Starter Ignition Switch, that is located on the front of my 15 HP 1983 motor, has been glued together 3 times and may not take a 4th repair. Is there a readily adaptable push button switch that can be substituted since new ones are $200 and there are no used ones available? I see other marine push button switches but mine has 3 wires and others seem to have only two.

yours has 2 terminals with 3 wires. Two wires are landed at the same terminal (rectifier and main battery 12v dc) switch new is $70. If you can find a marine rated switch that has 2 terminal preferable screw type with the correct size threads and amp rating then there's no reason you can not use it.

On my 15 Johnson I use a push button starter switch from Auto Zone or O'Rielly's which is a 60 amp switch. Mine is wired exactly as Glenn describes. This switch costs me about $15.00 and comes with a rubber screw on cover. May work for you. Good luck

Thanks for suggestions ... I'll head down to Autozone in next couple of days then report back as soon as I give it a try. Thank you both for the help, dealer cost for OEM and/or repro is like $195 ... ludicrous!
