starter trouble

my 55 horse evirude started ok,went about a mile then ran poorly.<br />when trying to start it back up the bedix would not come up in the flywheel.it's a 650 cranking amp battery.<br />it makes a whining sound but and clicks occasionally but wont start.<br />tried to pull start but no luck<br />55672e mod<br />thanks in addvance

Hi, Louie.<br /><br />Go to the Engine FAQ section. Do the starter circuit troubleshooting in "Outboard wont start".<br /><br />Good luck, and let us know what you find.
