starter bendix stuck up and wont go down i think shafts bent 0n a 85 force

Turn the wheel backwards.Then try to move the bendix.Under the bendix is a worm gear,a bit of grease will help to make it so it won't stick.
Bent shaft? Remove and put in a vice and apply power and see if it wobbles.J

I just had the same thing happen to me today. I took the starter off and was fiddling with it. the spring that pushes the Bendix down was bad. Just pulled a spring off and old starter and it worked good.

NO NO NO GREASE !!! Wind it back down and wash in parafin or WD40 until its loose on the threaded sleeve ...it works on inertia and grease clogs it up and attracts dirt...if it engages and wont turn you have bad battery bad wires or bad connections

Never been to a repair shop fucawi ??
That's one of the steps every repair shops I've been to does.
STOP YELLING AH. I post from my experience.I've been repairing these Forces/Chryslers since 1985.
And NEVER had a problem with my repairs.I have 2 Forces on my boat and the starters don't bind because I put a BIT of grease on the worm gear.
You don't like what I post DON"T READ IT!!!
You don't get to critisize other people here.Post what you think is right,I will too.
