Hey Everybody,
It goes like this, I was told to buy a boat due to a forclosure, I said no it's a 4cyl hunk a junk. Lady called begged me to remove it and take it for FREE! LOL yeah, free after spendin' 50 bucks in gas to haul it home....Did you see that on my forhead......it said......."sucker"........:faint2::lol:
Anyhow....I've got this thing in my yard, found battery hooked up wrong, melted wires, Trim motor and relays, wires , cyl disconected....sludge in the gas tank, core(freeze out) plug layin' behind Alternator.....blah blah blah....get the idea LOL
Here's the deal, I just want to start the thing ( I put the core plug back in) so rock and roll.....took out old battery that was hooked wrong, put mine in.....brand new from my other boat.....
I got the tank out, and the fuel line disconected from Carb for now, plugs out and oil in the holes, just want to see if it turns over......Nope....Key turned, starter don't spin....but horn works! LOL
OK, so I jumped the relay below the 60amp reset breaker...YES YES YES! it turns over! and nice and free, wow didn't expect that...opps got a little oil on my forhead from plug hole......LOL
OK, now lets see if plugs got spark, Left key in start spot, jumped relay...no spark out of plugs ...OK, took coil wire off
distrib.....and put it near a ground.....jump relay......no spark........
OK.....here is where I need help, I want to eliminate(get rid of) any wires , sensors, whathave you that could prevent this from starting just for now....
I notice there are ...is a black wire on right of coil going to distrib...and a green one going to looks like back to the dash where key is, and on left of coil I have purple and white hooked up, and a gray one that someone took off and wrapped it off and away from the coil???
I want to "bypass" as much as I can, without taking away the coil from working....or to tell me if the coil got cooked?
On lawnmowers dependin' on many things, I was always able to "loop" or disconect a blade or seat safety switch to rule out or rule in problems......
I'm a little greek to this I/O I'm more of an outboard guy when it comes to boats......
So, can any one help me? Greatly appreciate, wanna get it to run to see if I get milk-white in oil......?????
Thanks.....shoulda had a V8:laugh:
