Hello,

I have had some issues with my boat starting. I have a I/O 5.0 GL-D that quit starting about two months ago. I could hear the starter kicking out but wasnt turning the boat over. Doing some research and talking to some people on here, I thought it was corrosion on some of my grounding cables. Well I scrubbed all the cables and still had no luck. I finally took the starter off and tested it on a battery. The starter would kick out but would turn. So I purchased another starter and hooked everything back up. Now the starter doesn't even kick out. It also doesn't make the humming/buzzing sound that it use to make when i turned the battery switch on (anyone know what the buzzing sound is). Looking for some input of what I might of did wrong or forgot to hook something back up. I've looked over the cables a hundred times and everything seems to be hooked up, but no luck.

I would get a multimeter on the connections and find out you have the correct voltage getting there, make sure your battery is good as well.
Could be a fuse?

If all seems ok id take the starter off and test it, test the motor and solenoid separately, i doubt its the starter if new.
